"I know that's a lot, but I want the sentence to hurt,"

Sounds like grounds for appeal due to malicious prosecution to me.

Any actual lawyers want to chime in here?

Malicious prosecution is the commencement and maintenance of an action without probable cause. Has no relation to the severity of a criminal sentence

Sounds like grounds for appeal due to malicious prosecution to me.

They pled guilty so that kind of kills the malicious prosecution angle.
