There’s still quite a bit of piracy in the Pacific waters near the canal.
We are witnessing the difference between a governor who can’t manage his state (Newsom) and another who can (DeSantis). This year California lost another 1m acres to fires. One of the causes - Calfire and the National Forestry Service don’t communicate. Too much envy between the agencies. No coordination. Where was Newsom?

Under the new toll structure, a 9,000-TEU ship carrying 6,500 loaded TEU, or 72.2 percent of capacity, would pay a regular $677,500 toll for its headhaul voyage. That same ship, carrying 4,000 TEU on the backhaul, would pay $550,000, a 6.8 percent reduction from the current $590,000 toll.
I told them long ago to dig a canal across the Mexican border. Might cost a little more up front but would pay for itself and stop a lot of illegal crossing.
