New Docs Show That Ashli Babbitt was Shot for 'No Good Reason'

More than 500 pages of internal documents from DC Metropolitan Police concerning the fatal shooting of Ashli Babbitt in the Capitol on Jan. 6 reveal witness accounts stating she was not holding a weapon at the time of her death and how "upset" the officer was after shooting her.

"These previously secret records show there was no good reason to shoot and kill Ashli Babbitt," stated Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, which obtained the documents through a May 2021 FOIA lawsuit. "The Biden-Garland Justice Department and the Pelosi Congress have much to answer for the over the mishandling and cover-up of this scandalous killing of an American citizen by the U.S. Capitol Police."

Babbitt, an Air Force veteran, was shot and killed during the storming of the Capitol by a bullet fired by Capitol Police officer Lt. Michael Byrd. The documents from the DC Metropolitan Police department show that witnesses did not see Babbitt holding a weapon prior to her being shot, and reveal conflicting accounts of whether Byrd verbally warned Babbitt before shooting her.

In April, the Babbitt's filed notice to sue the USCP and the officer who murdered Ashli for at least $10 million. This was necessary to begin to toll the statutory 6-month requirement to sue the Federazi. But you knew that, didn't you.

And of course, if there is "no civil case", then Byrd-brain has no need to retain defense counsel, right? Oh wait, Byrd-brain has retained defense counsel, a sharp DC white-shoe defense attorney at LowensteinSandler, Mark Schamel. Imagine that.

Three SWAT guys right behind her did not see her as a threat.

Also, those SWAT guys should have responded to Byrd screaming warnings at Ashli, as he insisted he did. They did not respond because Byrd almost certainly lied about those warnings. He said nothing, aimed at Ashli, and pulled the trigger.

Byrd had non-lethal options to convince Ashli to retreat. He chose not to use them. He preferred to murder an unarmed woman.

All of this could have been painstakingly sorted out in an obscure procedure called a "TRIAL." However, the Capitol Police decided that they were above the law, and that they were permitted to murder Republicans without having to defend themselves in court. Democrats in Congress could have forced the trial to take place, but of course they did not. They do not object to murdering Republicans.

Yep, deadly force was certainly necessary against that unarmed woman who was not on her feet when she was murdered, and who was under direct observation by numerous uniformed and plain-clothes security personnel. After all she might have stood up and spit on one of those brave officers and might have even slapped one of them! If deadly force was justified, does that mean all the other security personnel were derelict in their duty for NOT using deadly force? GET REAL, DUDE!

TOTAL NONSENSE! By your reasoning Byrd was the only security personnel in the entire fu*king building who acted correctly by gunning down that defenseless woman. Countless other trespassers were in the building and countless other security personnel were also in the building, but not a single one of them killed any of the other trespassers. Maybe it could have de-escalated peacefully but sucks for her that the security guard wasn’t trained in leading a round of Kumbyah, My Lord. There is no hypothetical. Ashli was killed attempting to breach a secure area. No one could possibly know for sure whether she or her followers were armed, as she stormed passed the metal detectors and security screening. Did the SWAT team really make a radio broadcast saying the person busting into the inner capital was harmless and should be ushered in through the broken window to “protest”?

Scalise had just been shot in 2017 by some whacko partisan. Capital police damn well better not play patty cake.

She got caught up in the moment and paid the ultimate price. She also dishonored Trump’s call for peacefully making her voice heard, as breaking and entering is not covered by the “peaceably assemble” clause of the 1A. The idiots who broke windows and disobeyed lawful orders are not the heroes.
