Is it time for Anthony Fauci to step aside?
Washington Post ^ | 10/6/21 | Hugh Hewitt

Francis S. Collins’s announcement that he will step down as the director of the National Institutes of Health at the end of the year raises the question of whether Anthony S. Fauci should follow suit.

[cut]

Fauci, 80, does not run the Food and Drug Administration or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, but he has been a senior advisor to both presidents who have battled the covid-19 pandemic and has presented himself as the face of the nation’s public health bureaucracy. Either by choice or under orders, he put himself at the center of every controversy — appearing on television, radio and podcasts of every kind in the past year and a half. No one could possibly survive that gantlet intact.

Fauci is also a reminder that our government’s handling of this crisis has been pathetic. It began with the chaotic and slow response to the appearance of the virus in Wuhan, China. We would eventually learn that our government sent grant money to support research activities in the same Chinese lab that was separately conducting gain-of-function research into bat coronaviruses. Did we support that work directly? No, but such money is fungible to a research institution.

My conversation with Fauci last week revealed that the good doctor is now embattled: He does not understand that he has become a polarizing figure. He rejects most every criticism, believes all the backing and forthing is the consequence of changing data. He struggles, as far as I can tell, to admit error.

The portion of the country that has resisted his prescriptions and admonitions isn’t going to change its mind about him now. It is time for a reset. The first step to conquering such a problem: Admit that it exists.

Moreso than the question of “is it time for him to go”, I think the most important thing for people to learn from Fauci’s performance and career is how an unelected bureaucrat can, given enough time in the federal bureaucracy, steer policies that shape the nation and the world.

Fauci has his fingerprints on decades of bad national policy regarding public health responses. Were it not for him and the influence given him by the establishment system, thousands —maybe even millions, would be alive today.

In the 1980s, his steering of the government’s response to AIDs away from focusing on the gay community and drug addicts and developing therapeutics cost lives. Instead, he decided to play chicken little and convinced the world that HIV was a threat for people that the disease was low risk for acquiring and transmitting, and we needed to invest billions of dollars into a vaccine and spend years pursuing only the vaccine solution (gosh, does that sound familiar or what).

Since that point, he argued that imposing quarantines on people travelling to Ebola-risk areas was “draconian”, and while he hasn’t been blamed for it outright, his fingerprints are all over the decade of alarmism about every disease becoming a pandemic from Bird Flu to Swine Flu to Sars, mers, MRSA, and so on and so on. If not pushing for mandates for flu shots (which have regularly been only partially effective because of bad modelling by the “experts” on which strains were going to be prevalent each year), Fauci certainly wasn’t against them.

And now Covid-19, which very well may have never become anything but a disease that cave explorers in China ever got were it not for his assistance in supporting the Wuhan virology lab’s research into bat corona viruses.

If you think he’s the only bureaucrat who has been working his way up the career ladder and promoting misguided and wrong ideas for his entire career, you’re sadly mistaken. They are legion, and they never stand for election.

Not only is it time for him to be out but he should be punished for what he did to cause this worldwide pandemic. He funded the Wuhan Lab to do gain of function research with taxpayer money. Read what he said below:

“Scientists working in this field might say - as indeed I have said - that the benefits of such (gain of function) experiments and the resulting knowledge
outweigh the risks”
Anthony Fauci , 2012

Do millions of people sick and dying outweigh the risks?

That was Mike Pence who brought Fauci into the task force. You can blame him but it was the Senate Republicans who wanted to make Fauci the face of the task force. Trump brought on Atlas in the summer and stopped having Fauci show up to the briefings, but by then it was too late.

Trump was President. Trump was head of the Executive Branch, and bringing in Fauci was an Executive Branch function. The buck stopped with Trump.

Fauci should be tried in the Haugue for crimes against humanity.

Then executed on world wide TV for all to see.

True it’s past time for Fauci to go, but who would be his replacement? I’m not sure if this position is a political appointment, but we could bet in any circumstance the Biden White House will manipulate the choice. We could get another career bureaucrat with the right political orientation or a radical Marxist. I expect little change in the muddled CDC policy with Fauci gone.

The Chinese will never pay for what they did to the world because they have paid off too many politicians.

Your video would be a good start on what to do with Dr Fauci.

Once every 50 years or so a tyrant comes along that needs to be made an example of. It keeps the sociopaths from getting carried away with themselves.

And when it was found out Pence’s Fauci/Birx task force was a problem, Trump stopped Fauci from coming to the press briefings and wasn’t listening to him anymore, in October he hadn’t even spoken to Fauci in months!

“It began with the chaotic and slow response to the appearance of the virus in Wuhan, China.”

Hugh, I wonder why the government (Trump?, and also Democrats and the media) didn’t take the virus seriously in February...

Anthony Fauci, Feb 19:

“Fauci doesn’t want people to worry about coronavirus, the danger of which is ‘just minuscule.’”

I’d suggest that something infinitely more stringent is required...

Time for Fauxi to step aside? From what I’ve read about this turd, the time was about 10 years ago. This man is dangerous. He needs to resign or be forced to. How ‘bout Oct 31, 2021. Halloween. Perfect!

Peter McCullough, MD, MPH, says this is an "UNBELIEVEBLE ATROCITY"

He makes the case very clearly that the mRNA vaccines are much more dangerous and unsafe than the actual Covid-19 disease.

This is a very powerful hour long video, well worth your time to view.
