“You can’t run modern civilization on wind and solar. Can’t be done.”
I’m by no means a greenie. I love fossil fuels and nuclear power. To me global warming, if it’s happening, will bring about as many good things as bad things. Probably more good things.
But America in particular uses too much energy. Look at the roads and highways. People don’t live where they are. They go all over the place.
Our too-big house is always comfortable with gas heat and air conditioning. We’re all the time running to stores 15 miles away.
Mobility gives rise to great economic efficiency. Mobility takes energy.
Most people I know don’t live where they work since every city in the US has been destroyed by “them”.
Define “too much” energy.
Don’t like it?
Leave.
You do know that energy efficiency in the United States is way up in the last 35 years, right? Industrial energy use per unit value of product is down by nearly 40%. Fuel economy of passenger vehicles has improved by more than 25%. Appliances, light bulbs, and televisions use less energy, as do jets and just about every type of transportation. Houses are better insulated. Product packaging has been reduced. I could go on and on.
If your house is too big then why don’t you move to a smaller one?
Yeah ain't all this liberty a bitch? It would be so much better if the Government would "fix" this. /s
“Look at the roads and highways. People don’t live where they are. They go all over the place.”
Thanks, a$$hat.
Maybe YOU shouldn’t go ‘all over the place.’
Here in Montana we NEED to move around. Ranch folk come to town once a week from 90 miles away and fill up a horse trailer with supplies for the employees of the ranch.
Sell your home to someone who wants it and live in a small house. Betcha you won’t...
