Slavery in the Southern states would have ended without that War.

So what are you saying, that it would have been all right for the confederacy to hold on to the slaves until they were ready to free them?

And if they were planning abolish slavery, the why do the articles of secession from all of the states mention slavery as a reason for seceding?

There shouldn’t have been slavery in the Colonies, but there was.
There shouldn’t have been slavery after the Revolution, but there was.

So why in 1860 was it suddenly worth 700,000 lives lost in order to abolish it?

There has been slavery everywhere, all throughout history.
Thank God most nations have come to their senses and abolished it.

That is exactly what the Lincoln supported Corwin Amendment said. This amendment passed the congress with mostly Northern state votes. It was ratified by five northern states.

So yeah, that's exactly what the North was going to do.

why do the articles of secession from all of the states mention slavery as a reason for seceding?

Because that is a lie. Only 4 mention slavery as a reason for secession, and even at that, they mention a whole lot of other stuff too, but people have been taught to only remember the slavery part, and not at all the other things they complained about.

And most of the states did not mention slavery as a reason. Certainly Virginia did not say they were leaving because of slavery. They said they were leaving because the Federal government had become tyrannical.
