America thinks the unthinkable: More than half of Trump voters and 41% of Biden supporters want red and blue states to SECEDE from one another and form two new countries, shock new poll finds

Many breathed a sigh of relief when President Biden was elected, not for policy but for a reunification of the country after four years of tumult and fiery division under President Trump. But eight months into the new presidency, America's deep disunity might not be letting up.

A new poll has revealed that political divisions run so deep in the US that over half of Trump voters want red states to secede from the union, and 41% of Biden voters want blue states to split off.

According to the analysis from the University of Virginia's Center for Politics, 52% of Trump voters at least somewhat agree with the statement: 'The situation is such that I would favor [Blue/Red] states seceding from the union to form their own separate country.' Twenty-five percent of Trump voters strongly agree.

All of the articles of secession mention slavery as a reason for seceding. Only 4 of the original 7 seceding states issued declarations of causes. Of those Mississippi was the only one which mentioned exclusively slavery. Georgia and Texas went on at length about the economic exploitation of the Southern states by the federal government acting at the behest of Northern business interests and Texas went on at length about the federal government's malicious failure to provide border security as was required by the accession treaty. South Carolina attached the Address of Robert Barnwell Rhett to its declarations of causes. That address went on at great length about the South's economic exploitation by the Northern states and explained how the Southern states would be far better off economically if they were independent.

No matter how much Southerners hated the tariffs and no matter how unequal federal expenditures for infrastructure and corporate subsidies were, they were not unconstitutional. What was unconstitutional however was the North's refusal to enforce the Fugitive Slave Clause of the US constitution. On that point the Southern states could legitimately say the Northern states had violated the compact. So they seized it. When offered slavery forever by express constitutional amendment and massively strengthened fugitive slave laws, they refused. Obviously the protection of slavery was not their real concern.

I think the country will come to its senses somehow

I live deep behind enemy lines, and I listen a lot to the folks around me.

They have lost any concept of the country's key founding beliefs.

They really would be more comfortable living in North Korea.

The Declaration of Causes of Seceding States

Here they are. All of them mention slavery, although they surround it with arguments about "states rights" and the Constitution.

The readers can decide for themselves.

With free trade, we have it back in the form of Chinese slave labor. All that’s happening now is a consequence of it.

It's NOT secession...

That's a liberal term to try to identify this with the civil war, slavery and the RACE CARD. It's a divorce. Conservatives and liberals hate each other, hate each other's ideas and systems of government and we're NOT ever going to agree. Irreconcilable...

Two countries = PUS (Progressive United States) has white liberal 'elites' - their minority pet victim groups (angry entitled blacks who want to defund cops and let criminals out of jail before their victims are out of the hospital, current illegals AND the millions more who want to move into PUS (progressive United States), brown pity-party people and gang members...abortion rights people and all the gun control folks..

CUS (Conservative United States) gets middle class and working class citizens, the one in six black men and their families who voted for Trump (and any other traditional black citizens who want to live in a sane country), the almost 40% of brown people who voted for Trump, and people who BELIEVE IN THE CONSTITUTION AND ALL THE AMENDMENTS. (Yes, that included freedom of speech and freedom to own a gun)

Oh and in PUS (Progressive United States) abortion is legal up to 5 days AFTER the baby is born - in the event the 'parents' change their mind..)

Yes as I said, only 4 issued declarations of causes. 3 of the 4 mentioned things other than slavery. (I notice this does not include the address of Robert Barnwell Rhett for South Carolina...which is very disingenuous as it was sent out along with the Address).

Here is the Corwin Amendment.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corwin_Amendment

Readers can decide for themselves why the 7 original seceding states turned down slavery effectively forever by express constitutional amendment if protection of slavery had really been their main concern.

That's like setting up an East/West Germany right here.

On the eastern side, we'll have the white liberal 'elites' and their poor serfs.

On the western side, we'll have the productive working class.

The question is which side will have the resource to sustain itself. There is a hierarchy to economies. An economy is made up of three major sectors, primary, secondary, and tertiary.

The primary sector is agriculture; a nation has to feed itself. The agriculture sector is made up of wheats and grains, fruits and vegetables, meats, nuts, juices, etc. A nation without an agriculture sector will starve.

The secondary sector is industry; a nation has to be able to make things. This sector is made up of metals and ores, chemicals and materials, refining and manufacturing, intermediate and finished products, etc. A nation has to make things to grow.

The tertiary sector is services; a nation has to maintain itself to sustain. This sector is made up of the trade services (electrical, plumbing, A/C, automotive, etc.), professional services (advertising and marketing, sales, information, tourism, sciences, etc. A nation has to service its industry or it will collapse.

Will the blue states have the resources to feed, grow, and sustain itself without aid from the red states?

If you want to send them aid, then you belong in the blue states.

Red states do not send aid, they sell goods and services to the blue states for a profit. If red states cannot afford it, they can die.

We’ve been down this path before. The “Union” will never let the serfs go.

As in the 1860’s, the “Union” cannot exist without taking economic advantage of the “others”.

The cities cannot exist without the country, but the country can get along quite well without the cities.

We have developed an untenable situation. Will the Federal Government once again resort to violence to conquer those that which to be free?

I didn't mean it as wanting to send aid, I meant it as blue states depending on the red states for their survival in the existing country, so why would that change if they split off into their own country?

Blue states splitting apart would be suicide for those states, but not for the red states.

There shouldn’t have been slavery in the Colonies, but there was.
There shouldn’t have been slavery after the Revolution, but there was.

So why in 1860 was it suddenly worth 700,000 lives lost in order to abolish it?

There has been slavery everywhere, all throughout history.
Thank God most nations have come to their senses and abolished it.

What we are suffering is the natural consequences of human depravity in government. No government can withstand the vices of human nature forever. Those who we have elected, those who serve in the bureaucracy, those who wish to freeload off others, and those who wish to control others now far outnumber those officials and citizens that respect liberty, and wish to follow the Constitution.

The Federal government is no longer federal in its behavior. Over the last century and a half it has become a runaway behemoth bent on the destruction of liberty. Power through tax revenue has become concentrated into the national government. States have willingly surrendered power to the national beast in return for funding for highways, school lunch programs, Medicaid, and a thousand other programs. States sold out to D.C. monster, and now the monster thinks it has a right to do anything it wants without being questioned.

There no longer is a federal system of government. The United States government is some kind of an authoritarian kleptocracy. It cannot let freedom continue and will work to destroy any sense of those American ideals that continue. If Red States secede they will not be left in peace because what the Red states represent is despised and hated by those who think that they are some kind righteous crusaders.
Underneath their freakish, twisted, and perverted exterior is something more wicked and satanic than most of us could ever believe. They would prefer to slaughter us, and burn our bodies in their ovens than allow us to co-exist with them. There are only two ways in which this will end: Intervention by the Lord God, or the ancient human practice of war. Prepare for both.

Abolitionism had been a growing force for over a century. It is one of the reasons mentioned in many of the articles of secession.

It didn't just happen in 1860, but rather had built up to that point by 1860.

I don't want to say this but it's the truth. We brought back slave labor when we signed those free trade deals with the Chinese communists.

You expected them NOT to note that it was the other side which violated the constitution? What they really hated was actually constitutional....namely the way they were economically exploited in favor of Northern business interests. The North offered slavery forever but did not offer to stop screwing them over economically. They turned down the offer. That tells you all you need to know about the real motivations of both sides.
