How about this: I had the same accounting professor my last 3 years at Gonzaga. Dr. Dan Brajcich never used numbers. Instead, he taught the underlying theory to the transaction.

In every class, he gave mid-term and finals tests only. Each test consisted of 5 essay questions. You’d swear he thought them up walking to the classroom.

Two, sometimes three, of the questions required an answer starting with “based on the information you’ve provided, I cannot answer the question.” Then you’d have to explain why.

I’d bet the vast majority of today’s students would steer clear of his classes...too much work.
