Curious... what were your findings about sock colors this morning?

Inconspicuously glancing while I was on the treadmill, I noticed either people were wearing no socks (mostly guys), or light colored socks (pinks, etc. - the girls) and the older guys were white or had sweats on that went all the way down to their shoes.

Will have to do some more observing (without looking like some creepy dude) to get a significant sample size tomorrow.

Okay, day two of observations. n=about 40 people in the gym this morning when I went. About 60% female, 40% male. About 25% black, the rest white with a smattering of other ethnicities. My part of the state is really diverse ethnically, but it seems as if everyone gets along.

1) A disturbing amount of people wearing athletic shoes with no socks at all, mostly male. Weird.

2) Of the males that I saw with socks, both white and black, most had short ankle type white socks.

3) There were four guys with black socks, two in athletic shoes and one with what looked like black Rockports. One looked like he had black anti-thrombotic stockings on, so that didn't count IMHO.

4)As observed earlier, most females with socks tended to have light grays, light pinks etc.

Black socks with black sports shoes is okay, so that leaves 3. Not bad!

Oh, and one of those was compression hose, so that leaves 2 out of 40 - 5%.

Not an overwhelming majority, I’d say.

Not even a trend.

I have no idea why this bothered me so much.
