Nationally, voter turnout increased from 136.7 to 159.7 million from 2016 to 2020, a 17% increase. During this period, the voter eligible population increased only 4%.
NY turnout increased 11% from 2016 to 2020.
Seems in line to me.
The increased turnout had 3 factors:
1) intense feelings for and against Trump
2) more availability of mail-in and early voting using the pandemic as an excuse
3) outright fraud.
