Big gap between Pfizer, Moderna vaccines seen for preventing COVID hospitalizations

Amid persistent concerns that the protection offered by COVID-19 vaccines may be waning, a report released Friday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention finds that America's workhorse shot is significantly less effective at preventing severe cases of disease over the long term than many experts had realized.

Data collected from 18 states between March and August suggest the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine reduces the risk of being hospitalized with COVID-19 by 91% in the first four months after receiving the second dose. Beyond 120 days, however, that vaccine efficacy drops to 77%.

Meanwhile, Moderna's vaccine was 93% effective at reducing the short-term risk of COVID-19 hospitalization and remained 92% effective after 120 days.

Overall, 54% of fully vaccinated Americans have been immunized with the Pfizer shot.

The surprising findings came as a Food and Drug Administration advisory panel recommended against offering booster doses of the Pfizer vaccine to all Americans ages 16 and older. In a striking rebuke, 16 of 18 experts told the agency it had not mustered enough data to make a third shot the norm.

Could be related to the differences in stability of the mRNA between the two vaccines. Pfizer's needs to be kept at -80C prior to mixing and dosing. I could envision lots of people getting degraded mRNA from Pfizer because of breaches in storage protocol.

Again, the real story is the FDA stuffed Biden and got their revenge for the way he sidelined them for Fauxi and the CDC. They could have rubber-stamped this useless booster but they rubbed his face in it instead.

The flipside is, Xiden will say, "With no viable boosters going into the winter, I am shutting down the United States for 3 months - starting now."

At this point I would not take any vaccine ever again—Big Pharma has gone wildly off the rails—cannot trust them ever...

Take it with a grain of salt ... CDC conducted the study which guarantees that it was fixed and cannot be duplicated. Note that from past investigations, 50% of studies cannot be replicated because the data, specifications, variables, etc. cannot be set up properly to do the study, another 25%, if set up, do not replicate the results. Most studies are fake if they cannot be replicated easily two or three times.

Of course this is absolute BS. If it were true we wouldn’t have mask mandates for everyone all across the country including the vaxxed, because they would be immune. And the vaxxed wouldn’t be afraid to be around the unvaxxed. And hospitals in heavily vaxxed countries would not be filled with just as many vaxxed as unvaxxed. And how about forcing people who have already had Covid and have antibodies and natural immunity far stronger than anything that the experimental vaccinations produce? What is that all about? How long can they can they keep up this nonsense? Most definitely until the midterms and they are hoping to keep it going until 2024.

Wife and I got both Pfizer shots by the end of February. Both got the Chinese virus last month. But, happily neither of us were hospitalized. Of course I’m old enough to remember when vaccines (if made correctly—see early Salk polio vaccine) were supposed to prevent you from getting the disease at all.
