They are passing around the Delta variant. The vaccines aren’t nearly as effective against the Delta spike. Vax effectiveness versus natural immunity is a “5·8-fold” reduction. That’s what this is saying in PubMed speak:
“However, NAbTs (neutralising antibody titres) were 5·8-fold reduced against B.1.617.2 (Delta) relative to Wild-type (natural immunity) (95% CI 5·0–6·9)”

UK had also used a vax that we don’t, the Oxford-AstraZeneca. Not exclusively, but it was the first one. I don’t know if that makes any difference or not. Israel used Biontech-Pfizer AFAIK which makes them comparable to us.
The big issue appears to be that Delta can largely elude our original vaccines and infect the already vaccinated.
Covid-19 is an RNA virus. This 2009 post “The error-prone ways of RNA synthesis” describes why that is a problem:
“RNA viruses are the kings of errors – these enzymes screw up as often as one time for every 1,000 – 100,000 nucleotides polymerized. This high rate of mutation comes from the lack of proofreading ability in RNA polymerases. These enzymes make mistakes, but they can’t correct them. Therefore the mutations remain in the newly synthesized RNA.”
They are the most unstable of viruses, even worse at getting things right than flu. That means constant mutation.

Ivermectin AND HCQ both reduce viral load, and with Ivermectin it is more dramatic. The ionophore nature of HCQ means zinc should be taken along with the HCQ because the zinc INSIDE the cell inhibits viral replication, further working to reduce viral load. As soon as symptoms are noticed, taking Ivermectin AND HCQ with zinc works in ‘most’ people to keep viral load low enough fopr the immune system to overcome the invading virons.
