Fox News Hosts Flip Out as FAA Grounds Drone Gawking at Migrants Under Texas Bridge
Daily beast ^ | September 17, 2021 | Jamie Ross

Posted on 09/17/2021 5:40:13 AM PDT by American Number 181269513

Fox News can no longer bring its viewers live voyeuristic footage of desperate people huddled under a bridge in Texas—and its hosts are mad. Late Thursday, the Federal Aviation Administration brought in a two-week flight restriction over Del Rio, which means that Fox News has to ground the drone it’s been using to show the scene at International Bridge between Del Rio and Mexico’s Ciudad Acuña. At least 10,000 migrants, largely from Haiti, have gathered at the bridge, and Reuters reports the people are low on food and water as temperatures hit 99 degrees Fahrenheit. The FAA said the flight restriction was needed “due to drones interfering with law enforcement flights,” and the media can still “make requests to operate in the area.” Fox News hosts, who have been fear-mongering about the gathering all week, reacted to the ban with anger. Sean Hannity accused the FAA of “trying to prevent Fox’s drone from showing the American people the truth and capturing images just like this... The FAA is being used to cover up for Biden’s failures. And we are going to let that stand? I don’t think so.”

What is the fine if someone were to go ahead fly a drone?

Probably the usual US Gubmint response; $50,000 fine for each infraction, 10 year imprisonment, or both.

“ Reuters reports the people are low on food and water as temperatures hit 99 degrees Fahrenheit. “
“ Fox News hosts, who have been fear-mongering about the gathering all week, ”
So according to Jamie Ross reporting on thousands of men, women and children with out adequate food, water and shelter is “fear mongering”. What a heartless sycophant. This is the same exact attitude Walter Duranty had.

Even Dominican Republic is building a wall to keep the Haitians out.

“No reason to ban drones unless they are in the path of runways. “

All drones over 4 oz. in weight HAVE to be registered with the FAA and the drone emits it’s ID # while it flies...no way to NOT be noticed by the FAA.

Costco sells a drone with a very HD camera that weighs 3.9 oz. and no registration/ ID squawk.

Seems like the light drone is a good possibility.

“Fox News can no longer bring its viewers live voyeuristic footage of desperate people huddled under a bridge...”

“voyeuristic”???

Were the democrats favorite picture, children behind chain link fences, from the Obama era, which they lied and said happened during Trump’s term, voyeuristic?

Were picture of starving Jews in the concentration camps voyeuristic?

Or do those pictures serve as a warning?

Um, how about equipping a FNC drone with a telephoto lens? I mean, satellites can take pictures of my backyard. I know people would rather curse the dark vs light a candle, but seriously, all this requires some intelligence.

Unfortunately, the FAA has grounded all photons in the area, too.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it was a Fox News ploy to convince some that they are ‘conservative’.

How do 8000 Haitians get under a bridge in the US? How did they get here?

Sort of correct.

https://www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started/remote_id/

Notice the third version where you have no ID but fly in an approved area.

Many drones don’t have the ability to broadcast or transmit an ID.

While its not particularly lawful to do so, it is possible without getting caught.

The sport \ racing models of drones are usually built from the ground up by the controller\owner. It seems likely that this sort of drone would lack the ID modules and the speed at which they travel (over 100 MPH) would make it difficult to track but it would also be able to do flybys with 4k or 8k cameras that would capture all the details. Some drones have gps guidance systems that allow you to set waypoints and allow it to autopilot itself. You could set the drone to take of from point A, travel to point B, turn the camera on, travel to Point C at this elevation and this speed, travel to point D, then travel to point E and land. ALL of this can occur while the drone is streaming video back to a tablet or phone. Typically sport drones don’t have the capability of autopiloting, but other non-ID’ed models do.

A really big IF in all this is that if this is a no fly zone, are they jamming the frequencies that drones use?

The FAA said the flight restriction was needed “due to drones interfering with law enforcement flights,”

The only part of that which makes sense is the reports of the cartels flying their own drones for recon throughout the border region.

No reason to ban drones unless they are in the path of runways.

There may be one: There have been reports - including on Fox News - that the smugglers are running their own drones in the area as part of their efforts to evade CBP, and see who gets through.

That TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) is from ground level to 1000 feet above the ground. The reason for this TFR per the FAA is, "Temporary flight restrictions for Special Security Reasons" That is a lie.

Note: Drones can not legally fly above 400 feet above the ground. Thus this 1000 foot restriction kills drone operations in this TFR. However, fixed winged and rotor aircraft can operate in this area below 2500 feet mean sea level. At Del Rio this would be about 1400 feet above the ground. With high quality cameras Fox can get great video from a chopper or fixed wing aircraft. Do it FOX!

The blatant tyranny of the Democrat/Communist/Left Party clearly evidenced by their relentless attacks on American citizens and on our Constitution simply must be stopped or there won’t be an American Republic to save by the time November 2022 rolls around, much less November 2024! What will it take?! The attacks are powerful and persistent, and are becoming more of an existential threat to our Republic with each passing hour of each passing day!

"Fox News can no longer bring its viewers live voyeuristic footage of desperate people huddled under a bridge in Texas . . . "

Wow, what a spin that is! We know the major networks NEVER cover stories with "voyeuristic" aerial photos of people trapped by floods and hurricanes, or neighborhoods destroyed by tornados! Never! And of course these frauds totally ignore the censorship angle, meaning that they support it.
