If the newly born life is the victim of an attempted murder at 6 weeks plus, when does the right to self-defence begin? A guardian ad litam would seem to be a possible approach, and though the killing of the mother would be counterproductive, that of the doctor attemotring to kill the infant-to-be would not. I had to shoot him, officer! He tried to kill the baby with a knife!

I disagree. Imposing summary judgement is assuming God powers. We can sit on the corner and cluck like hens in disapproval all we want, but when we take it upon ourselves to physically act and impose summary judgement outside of a court we violate God’s law. That’s why we have courts and juries made of many people. To take the burden of judgement for which we will be judged, from our shoulders, and impose that burden onto a court. Cluck away but mind your own soul at the same time, less you commit the greatest sin of all - the sin of placing yourself above The Almighty.
