So, it’s circa 1983 mid September, and we are camping at Ft. Desoto park.
Listening to the radio weather report, and all of a sudden, we got gust up to 30 knts. Rain squals and the tent is not secure.
Next thing you know, high tide got a lot higher, and there are tornado warnings.
We exited the AO as quickly as possible.
The storm I’m referring to is the, “No name” storm.
Caused millions in property damage and 5 deaths.

We are approaching the 20th anniversary of Gabrielle, which sneaked up on us shortly after 9/11. Nobody was paying attention to the weather. It was the only time I saw my street become a river, and half my front yard was under water too.

I know that area somewhat. That had to have been more than a little scary.
