did the doctor who wrote the prescription have privileges at that hospital?

do hospitals allow meds to be prescribed by doctors who don’t have privileges at that particular hospital?

reason I ask is due to points raised in gas_dr’s post:

see gas_dr’s post above my question

if the dr doesn’t have hospital privileges, then the hospital can deny the meds.

As a matter of course hospitals allow continued dosing of medications a patient is on prior to admission, presumably a modification by the same doctor would not be an issue regardless of their relationship to the hospital.
