You can change politicians every four years or so and by doing so it may somewhat impact the direction this country is going. However it took decades to form and develop that current public mindset which got the US to that sad point it is now. This country is just like a big ocean freighter and cannot turn on a dime. In other words I would not expect any beneficial changes to take place in the near future. If anything I expect the downward spiral to continue. It may take another major war or a natural disaster for humans to acquire a new and more sensible perspective.
The epiphany will come with the cattle cars.
