Agree, McConnell is just another Republican poser. A big part of the problem.

Impeachment occurs in the House; conviction and ouster happens in the Senate.

Even democrats are seeing their utterly pathetic president is doomed. Mitch is right as for now, but things are going to get a lot worse for this demented fool.

And here we see the difference between actual Democrats and the Assistant Democrat party. One plays for keeps. The other plays tiddly-winks.

“There isn’t going to be an impeachment as long as Democrats control Congress.”Pro tip: There isn't going to be one if the Republicans control Congress, either.

Unless he dies or otherwise becomes physically unable, he will.

There is only one purpose in McConnel making that statement at this point in time, instead of letting the course of events make it, or fail to make it all the way to impeachment.
What can McConnell’s purpose be? He, McConnell does not want to impeach Biden, so he is making his own push against it prematurely. He is not observing and predicting, he is laying down his own marker against impeachment.

“Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said last week that he thought Biden should be impeached.”
So says the “conservative” GOP Senator who has supported every Biden appointment to the federal courts, including far left activists.

Nixon resigned because he was going to lose an impeachment vote.
In asymmetrical warfare you find ways to attack a enemies weak points.
Keeping the talk going about 25th Amendment and Impeachment forces the enemy to respond and weakens the Biden Administration. That why the Democrats used it against Trump. They knew they were going to lose but they used it as another front to attack on.
We need people in the GOP-E to learn how to fight, even if they are going to lose, rather then thee habitual knee jerk pre-emtive surrenders.
It is a political form of the water drop torture.

My dream is Trump runs for the House in his district, is elected. Is nominated for Speaker, elected, and leads the impeachment of Biden and then Harris....and viola.....POTUS returns AND can still run again for the office.
I like the way you think. It's a pipe dream because of the senate. They have already shown they would do anything, break any law or violate the constitution to keep Trump from office.

Strategery (sic) thoughts:
Impeachment would galvanize the democrat base.
“Those “eeeevil” republicans, ad nauseum, is all we’d hear. The Twitverse would be all a flutter.
Don’t expect self-awareness and critical thinking to compare and contrast with DJT impeachment.
On the other hand, see if there continues to be unforced errors. I suspect the public opinion of his probity, and worthiness will continue to sink. All of it’s own.
And without the red meat of fighting back an impeachment show to inflame their base.
Just my $0.02.
