Not even back in the late 50’s with polio shots?

What about the other childhood diseases, did they push the parents and older children to get them?

Yes, I mentioned school kids were an exception. I don’t remember being forced in the 50s because I was little but I know I got them. Military was the same way when my husband was in between Korea and Vietnam. They were forced.

I’m talking about for regular adults.

There is A LOT of difference between polio and smallpox compared to covid.

So, back then, when the shots came out, if an adult wasn’t in the military, there was —no— coercion to get the shots?

I don’t know because I was so little. Back then our government wasn’t as commie and wasn’t trying to kill us off. At least I don’t remember my dad talking about it and he was very political. There is a difference between being encouraged and being forced. People weren’t being segregated by vac status as far as I know like they are attempting to do now.

I was in the 3rd grade when my husband was in the Army and stationed in S. Korea. He still talks about all the forced vaccinations prior to going overseas.

Back in the 50s people were begging to be vaccinated against smallpox and polio from what my mom told.

When I was little we didn’t get vaccinated for measles, mumps, chickenpox, etc. We might have been vaccinated against diphtheria. I mostly just remember the smallpox and polio.

Well blow my mind. An article everyone should read. I just don’t have words for such other than “blow my mind.”
