“I would think that anyone using a name like “Pirate Ragnar” would understand the importance of not paying taxes to those who enslave you.”
I am a strong Conservative and, by circumstance, living in Oregon. I don’t take lightly to being slandered with a broad brush of generalization without the slanderer having any knowledge of who I am or what I do. Stop the sloppy thinking.
I am not trying to insult anyone.
I am not even sure that it’s an insult to point out the Ayn Rand angle.
I lived, worked and paid taxes in Kalifornia, for years. I left it, partly because I wanted my tax money directed elsewhere.
Your name, here, is one of the principals in Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged”. Far from taking offense, I would think you would appreciate the message of the original post you responded to. The implication of the book you reference is that, as a Conservative, you are hostage to the powers that run your state and do not serve you. We all are, to varying extents.
I was disappointed that Rand did not appear to really offer any real solutions to the problems she so accurately described in “Atlas Shrugged”. There is no “Galt’s Gulch” in the real world.
But, I do think that taking responsibility for our contribution to evil in work and taxes can be part of a solution. That is how I took the original post you responded to, in any event.
People who don’t live in OR often have no freaking clue. I’ve lived here about 26 years and the reason OR is “blue” is because of election fraud, plain and simple. I did some research on election and posted about it a while ago, I’ll see if I can find the thread. Any states that are sanctuary states or counties or cities, that give illegals DL, that have motor voter laws, and mail in voting, all have massive, massive fraud. Exactly what we have in OR. ANd now there is online voter registration that requires NO ID of any kind.
Aha, found it, has a lot of info.
