The prices were exploding upward before my eyes. Up about 15 cents per round within an hour. Hopefully Eastern Europe can take up the slack, there’s money to be made if they seize the moment. The cynic in me says that Joe is prepping the market for the Chinese to make a big splash with an export brand of AK/SKS ammo of their own.
I think there is already a ban on ammo from China. Somebody mentioned earlier North Korea. I don’t know why they wouldn’t have been in the US market previously. Maybe, they are banned as well.
The Russian ammo helped drive down the price of US ammo because the Russians provided steel case ammo in many popular rounds. Without that competition, that may drive demand and the prices up.
