Has California Secretary of State Shirley Weber has invented a “print-your-own ballot from home” program just in time for the September 14th recall election of Gov. Gavin Newsom? Or has this program been around but not promoted – until now?
The Globe received a tip from a source about the Remote Accessible Vote by Mail (RAVBM) system.
It turns out this Remote Accessible Vote by Mail (RAVBM) system, which appears to have been created for the November 3, 2020 General Election, allows voters to mark their selections using their own compatible technology to vote independently and privately in the comfort of their own home. It appears to be a published but not menu-listed page. Are they hiding it on purpose?
And how many ballots in the 2020 General Election were cast using these make-your-own ballots?

Banana Republic alert.
What could go wrong?
“Oh goodie, I’m against the recall. Can I print more than one ballot? Say...a thousand?”
And the holes just happen to be where you can see how the person voted. Uh-huh.
And amazingly if you vote to recall the holes will allow anyone to see you voted that way. Quite a coincidence.
“Hey Joe, we’re running behind by 100,000. Fire up the LaserJet.”
So somebody can just print out ballots and vote for grandma and grandpa and auntie em for them because they’re stuck in the nursing home.
that deaf dumb and blind kid sure played a mean pinball
Here in King County (Seattle) you can print your own ballot.
I do not know if all Washington counties can print or not.
We started vote by mail about 15 years ago.
The first election, I had to show my Drivers License when I dropped off my ballot.
A couple elections later, no ID, but we still had human beings at all the drop boxes.
A couple years later, public drop boxes, or postage free mailing, no ID, no humans.
I decided to try the email ballot this time in my county. My understanding is this type of voting was initially put in place for those who can’t get around easily due to a physical handicap.
I was assigned a unique number that was emailed to me separately. I could only print one marked ballot using this code, not thousands. I dropped it off at the county office and not USPS.
Honestly, I don’t trust my vote even when going down in person and waiting in line at the in-person polling location.
Elder for the win, even though he smokes lots of weed and waves guns around. /s
Yes, and there was just no other way to help blind people find where to put their signature. And is there Braille on the ballot itself so they can find where to put their votes in the first place?
But if there is no other practical way than using holes in the envelope, then the envelope should at least warn people to make sure they insert their ballot so their votes aren’t visible.
Fox did a story about a Tweet from the LA County Registrar on the holes.
“This has been part of the envelope design for years. The holes serve both an accessibility purpose and a quality assurance purpose after the fact to validate no voted ballots are left unprocessed; an established, recommended practice,” the office said on Twitter Thursday.
I found an image online of an envelope for mail-in voting which I believe is from Europe, and it seemed to have a hole too. Makes you wonder.

If I had to predict, the GOP is easily going to lose Midterms and the next presidential.
This report made 87 recommendations / warnings to set agreed standards for public confidence in election outcomes. In the years since, in spite of the bipartisan makeup of the commission, few of the following recommendations have been put in place nationwide.
1) Positive ID for all voters using the 'REAL ID' standard,
2) Election Observers with full viewing access,
3) Registered voter lists properly validated and with databases checked against other states,
4) Reliable voting machines with paper receipts,
5) Media embargo on too early victory announcements,
6) Visible and public actions against voter fraud and intimidation
AND ...
7) Permit absentee and mail-in voting BUT only with safeguards since this is outside the polling location. No allowing candidates or party workers to pick up and deliver absentee ballots.
Isn’t this Raciss?
Everyone knows blacks (POC) don’t have printers.
If they are visually impaired how do they know who to vote for? Can they read the ballot?
That is why they have the absentee ballot.
Mail my vax with it.
