Joe Biden went on vacation to Camp David just before Afghanistan fell to the Taliban and gave no public remarks on the matter until more than 24 hours after the fall of Kabul. That was a speech Biden delivered from the White House Monday, after which he took no questions from the media.
He went silent again, then delivered another speech on Wednesday, this time on COVID. He took no media questions after the conclusion of this address. He sat for an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Wednesday. That interview has caused yet more problems. Biden’s performance in it has been seen as heartless and incoherent.
Fox News reports that Biden has effectively called a lid, this time indefinitely.

To clarify & be perfectly candid from my end as well, Joe has been an arrogant, narcissitic @sshole his whole political career, known for being wrong ALL the time. It appears to me that for him to “go out” as a stumbling, bumbling, half-incoherent old fool who will forever have Afghanistan & the ruination of this country attached to his “legacy”, is just desserts/what he deserves. Couldn’t happen to a “nicer” person.
From a family perspective, regardless of who he is, it’s elder abuse; however, since Joe is as corrupt as they come, it again seems fitting that the corruption he fostered in his family should rear up & bite him in the butt.
That being said, I totally agree with you on caring for the country & all you said.

Thank you for the thoughts on Alzheimers - family member & a really good friend. In the nursing home with yet another friend, I saw the various versions of behavior - we were fortunate not to have the anger issues. At least they are at peace now.

Unfortunately, the amount of care required can be too much. We tried to use in-home care also, but it was a losing battle. All the best with you Mom.
