I am a big-time fan of homeschooling and many of my relatives have very successfully home schooled their children. However it is not for everyone.

1. Homes where both parents work just don’t have the time to do a good job.
2. Many parents are poorly educated and don’t have the ability to home school.
3. Many homes are single parent homes, dysfunctional and to try homeschooling would be a disaster. The kids are usually disrespectful and disobedient. These same ones often drop out of public schools and hang out with anti-social gangs.

Yes, you are right. Some children will need to be institutionalized for their schooling.

We need orphanages, too, but no one argues it is the best way to rear a child.
