The speech that shamed America: Its contemptible dishonesty would have made Donald Trump blush.
DAILY MAIL ^ | 18 August 2021 | ANDREW NEIL FOR THE DAILY MAIL

Posted on 08/18/2021 6:55:17 AM PDT by Liz

It was the most contemptible speech by a U.S. president in modern times — a speech that shames America and leaves its global reputation in the dirt.

And given that, until last January, the White House was occupied for four years by a certain Donald J. Trump, there couldn’t be a more damning criticism of President Joe Biden.

Much of his address to the U.S. on Monday was Orwellian. In his classic novel 1984, set in a totalitarian dystopia, George Orwell created a Ministry of Peace which waged war, a Ministry of Truth which peddled lies, a Ministry of Love which tortured dissidents and a Ministry of Plenty which oversaw starvation.

Biden matched all of that and more with his own defiant doublethink, involving distortions, the rewriting of history, and nonsense and untruths that even Trump would struggle to rival.

His abject surrender to the Taliban was dressed up as political reality and common sense. His scuttle from Kabul, still ongoing, was depicted as geopolitical wisdom and a refocusing of U.S. priorities.

Any mistakes or problems were the fault of others, from Trump to the Afghan army.

But make no mistake: the person overwhelmingly responsible for the appalling scenes currently unfolding on our TV screens is the man sitting in the Oval Office.

Biden never fails to embarrass us.............but this is more devastating than embarrassment.

Plus we will now be invaded by tribal, sharia dedicated 3rd world extremists and their extended families.

Thanks, Uncle Joe.

True.

And in true Orwellian fashion, he said the buck stops with him, and then proceeded to blame everyone else.

” a speech that shames America and leaves its global reputation in the dirt. “

Hopefully in the long run it will only shame Biden and those that voted for him, and hopefully those that voted for him will come to their senses by the next election.

Harris says she had key role in Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal decision
Politico ^ | 04/25/2021 | Allie Bice

EXCERPT
The vice president confirmed she was the last person in the room before Biden made the decision to move forward with withdrawing U.S. troops.

In an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union,” Harris was asked about being the last person in the room regarding major decisions, something that Biden has said is important to him in his working relationship with the vice president.

Harris confirmed that was the case re the move to pull U.S. troops out of Afghanistan by Sept. 11.

squinting at the teleprompter blaming Trump, taking no responsibility, taking no questions from the media and then wandering off likely for that bowl of ice cream Jill had promised him if he didn’t screw up.

“I’m hungry, where’s my ice cream.
Say Jill what was that you injected me with, I FEEL GREAT.
Maybe I’ll just take a nap before I eat i....ZZZZZzzzzzzz”.

“HOW ARE YOU GOING TO GET AMERICAN CITIZENS OUT OF KABUL?” and, “WHY DID THIS DISASTER HAPPEN IF YOU HAD PLANNED FOR ALL SITUATIONS?”

Two very good questions, and if there were an opportunity to ask (as Biden, Harris, and anyone else in a position of authority is MIA), I hope someone in the MSM has the guts to do so.

And VP Harris:

A well-placed source inside the White House informs Becker News that Kamala Harris objected to addressing the nation on Sunday. The source reports that Kamala Harris could be heard screaming, “They will not pin this s*** on me!” Furthermore, the source reports that Jill Biden was at Camp David deflecting calls being made for Joe Biden.

Anyone who’s really paid any attention to Biden over the years knows that this was probably the plan all along.

Why else was Biden installed in the POTUS seat but to achieve results like this?

Which kinda makes me a little anxious about what all is planned for us next.

The U.S. taxpayers are going to pay a fortune through the Federal government to the Taliban to minimize the optics of a pathetic _resident. Notice how quickly they cleared the airfield to resume flights.

The U.S. taxpayers are also going to pay a fortune to Kamala Harris's cronies. Her handlers want her to act as Vice President but she knows they can't fire her. She's going to extract payment for every little thing she does. She doesn't care a whit about the taxpayers nor her Democrat handlers. She knows she needs to collect all the money she can now because she's only there because Gropey Jao Bai-din said he'd have a woman and black vice presidential candidate running with him.

US Embassy in Afghanistan Burned the Passports & Documents Needed to Get Afgan Citizens OUT!
https://edition.cnn.com/world/live-news/afghanistan-taliban-us-news-08-17-21/h_dc5170c607274abd2a398dca39f213a3 ^ | 08/18/21
FR Posted on 8/18/2021, 10:19:55 AM by Enlightened1

American personnel destroyed the passports of some Afghans when they were getting rid of all sensitive materials at the US Embassy in Kabul in preparation for a full evacuation, according an update that Rep. Andy Kim’s office is sharing with people who request assistance with evacuations from Afghanistan.

It is unclear why the passports were destroyed, but it is possible diplomats determined it would have been dangerous for the documents to fall into the hands of Taliban members, who could then target those Afghans.

Not having a passport creates major complications for Afghans who are desperately and urgently trying to get out of the country.

“Visa and passport appointments at the Embassy have been canceled, and passports that were in the Embassy’s possession have been destroyed. Currently, it is not possible to provide any further visa services in Afghanistan,” the message from Kim’s office says. “The Department of State advises all people waiting for processing to find shelter and wait for further instructions. They should not go to the airport until they are called to do so and should follow the instructions carefully.” Rep. Tom Malinowski said that the US will have to come up with ways to verify the identity of Afghans whose passports were burned.

“We are going to have to take people without passports and vet them in other ways, like with their phone numbers for example. In many cases we know their contact information and their phone numbers and that is how we will have to identify them. Any Afghans braving the trip to the airport will not have wanted to go there with identifying documents, anyway,” Malinowski told CNN.

The US is not protecting the fully evacuated US Embassy in Kabul, but the compound is in a heavily fortified area, according to State Department spokesperson

Biden finds few Capitol Hill allies amid Afghanistan backlash
The Hill ^ | 08/1802021 | JORDAIN CARNEY
FR Posted on 8/18/2021, 10:57:23 AM by DFG

President Biden is getting little cover from Congress as he faces broad backlash over his handling of the U.S. withdrawal in Afghanistan.

Some Democrats, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), have rallied to Biden’s side and circulated White House talking points to their members. Pelosi also urged Democrats during a conference call to stand behind Biden, according to a source familiar with the conversation.

But the quick fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban, images of chaos coming out of Kabul and questions about how, and how quickly, Americans and tens of thousands of Afghan allies and their families will get evacuated have merged into broad, bipartisan frustration between the two sides of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Though Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, criticized the Trump administration’s agreement with the Taliban as “wholly inadequate,” he also didn’t spare Biden.

“I am disappointed that the Biden administration clearly did not accurately assess the implications of a rapid U.S. withdrawal,” Menendez said.
