By the way: the survival rate I heard in the hospital was about 50%.

A hat tip and apology to you. I missed it. It is hard to read word salad such as that piece of writing.

No. I was on high volume oxygen at 100%, maximum flow. Next step would have been the ventilator.

Goodness. Glad you came through. My lady and I had it back last November/December. Worst for either of us was loss of taste/smell.

My wife, who had just received the J&J a week or so earlier (I’m on immunosuppressants, the mRNAs are mostly useless to me), got the virus right before me. She was miserable for two weeks, but at home. I was gonna get the J&J since my wife didn’t grow a third eye or anything immediately after getting the jab, but I got the ‘rona from first, probably from her, and wound up in the hospital.

An anecdote that supports the thesis that the vaccines may not prevent infection, but they generally reduce their impact.

Sorry, you are correct. I must have gotten bored with the rhetoric before I saw the “who what when where why” particulars.

He did not take the vaccine. Made fun of it and Covid hype on air.

His overall health was good which was why he didn’t think he needed the Vax.

He is on the lung portion of a heart/lung machine I believe. They have said several times his lungs are not good.

It seems likely that if he survives, he’ll have badly damaged lungs. I’ve had a taste of that with m illness. Being on heavy O2 24 hours a day is just no fun. And the feeling I got when I overexerted, even when running the O2 at the maximum, was terrifying. While I was in the hospital, the doctors said I could be on O2 the rest of my life.

Praise God, in the short time since my discharge, I am no longer using O2 at home. I haven’t ventured out yet, and I may need it when out and about. But I think with further healing and exercise, I’ll be able to minimize or even eliminate that need.

But m understanding is that the ventilator and the heart/lung can save your life, but they usually damage the lungs permanently.

"... the survival rate I heard in the hospital was about 50%."

I was on a ventilator seven years ago for two days. What I learned after the fact matches what you heard. If I understand correctly people are put on a ventilator because otherwise their organs would fail from lack of oxygen.

I got visits in the hospital from quite a few relatives who came to town to attend a funeral.

please please try to slip him some ivermectin....there are cases where very late in the game, ivermectin can work, even when on a trach.

Yep, that is what the doctor explained to my dad when he had corona. My dad had already stated that he didn’t want to be on a ventilator. In the end, his blood oxygen level was at 38% when they took the oxygen off him. He was good to go and would have never wanted to live with the damaged lungs.
