We haven't been fighting a war in Afghanistan for at least a decade. The war ended when Bin Laden died.

Staying there, like staying in Germany and Japan, was a wise decision. We had a base of operation against Islamic terrorism.

Now, Al Qaeda or another terrorist group will reform with the Taliban's protection, launch terrorist attacks against this country or American interests abroad and we'll have to go back and wipe that terrorist group out. We'll lose a lot more lives when that happens than if we had stayed in Afghanistan.

Rinse. Wash. Repeat. It's the same pattern over and over again.

\We’re not fighting Islamic extremism here. The enemy is already inside the wire. Given that it makes absolutely no sense sending America’s best to die half way around the world for nothing.
