Team Biden Blaming Donald Trump for Taliban Takeover of Afghanistan

President Joe Biden’s team has increasingly grown defensive following the swift Taliban seizure of key Afghan cities after he withdrew American troops.

West Wing officials voiced their frustrations with former President Donald Trump in conversations with Axios reporter Jonathan Swan.

The officials complained that Trump only left them with 3,000 troops in Afghanistan, forcing them to withdraw because there was no way to keep the peace with such a small force, according to the report.

There was an early peace in Afghanistan, team Biden argued, only because Trump agreed to leave on May 1.

That was an argument that White House press secretary Jen Psaki used in July, noting Biden believed the Taliban “would have been shooting at U.S. troops again after May 1.”

“The withdrawal deadline negotiated by the previous administration kind of set that timeline,” she said.

Biden first chose to extend the deadline for troop withdrawals to September 11, but in July he moved up the timeline to August 31.

Biden also insisted in July that the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan was “not inevitable” in an exchange with reporters.

When asked why he was confident, Biden signaled optimism regarding the strength of the Afghanistan army.

“The Afghan troops have 300,000 — as well-equipped as any army in the world — and an air force against something like 75,000 Taliban,” he said. “It is not inevitable.”

Trump himself criticized Biden’s handling of the withdrawal in Afghanistan in a statement on Thursday.

“I personally had discussions with top Taliban leaders whereby they understood what they are doing now would not have been acceptable,” he said, noting that if he was still president, he would have focused on a “conditions-based” withdrawal.”

Excellent post. Trump could negotiate and did, largely predicated on his past performance regarding people who crossed him (Qasem Soleimani was unavailable for comment). The Taliban had to be patient with him, and they were. Biden, on the other hand, brought indecision and chaos, due to the thing being run by a team of political wonks with things on their mind other than foreign policy - delaying the thing until 11 September for optics was a truly asinine thing to do and it’s only one example. For another, delaying it so Slow Joe could claim credit for it has backfired horribly and now it’s a matter of deflecting blame after loudly claiming that credit. They’ll try, but it isn’t happening, and Joe’s team is learning that they are running out of excuses and friends at an increasing rate.

I love that many liberals love to copy her and wear those stupid glasses. I love it though because it makes them easier to recognize and avoid.

Illegitimate Joe can’t “focus” on anything, much less ‘firmly’ ....

There’s nothing worse than an American president who won’t take responsibility for what happens on his watch.

Any casual observer knows Biden blew the withdrawal and is now scrambling to keep Americans and allies alive in a very dangerous situation.

so it is NOT Trump’s fault, right?

They did not know HOW we would be leaving, FRiend! Biden’s first big mouthed bunch of Commies blasted the “pullout” stages all the f over the place. You know this, certainly?

They did WAY more than ‘telegraph’ military movements by the US— they FIRST abandoned Bagram AFB— which was not in the vanguard of the Trump Admin withdrawal. All... ALL was conditional on the actions of the Taliban. The leadership well aware of the demonrats assisting them in the destruction of US 20 years of profitable (to the mil-industrial teat sucking demonrats of the Beltay Bandits) occupation of Afghanistan. Said original mission could have been wrapped up by GWB et cie within 8 months in 2002. Fact.
The national industry of the tribals in Afghan, since the Brits idiocy— suck up weapons, money and support their number one export-— black tar opium.

What a bunch of BS. No problems for four years under Trump. Never heard the word OPEC. Never saw an ISIS beheading. No mass casualties in Iraq or Afghanistan. Biden destroyed Afghanistan just like he destroyed everything else in six short months.

Trump’s plan would have worked because he knew how to fight.. and in withdrawing from an endless cesspool where the uncivilized kill and torture at random and where other leaders had no sense... Trump would have adjusted with as much power as needed to get our troops out and the embassy closed safely. There would have been no disorder as you see today.

Any idiot who respect the man Trump, with his high IQ and guts to do what is right...
As it is today.. we have a mess that was predicted by having the dems in control snd senile biden. With Obama..
A predicted failure.
