Team Biden Blaming Donald Trump for Taliban Takeover of Afghanistan

President Joe Biden’s team has increasingly grown defensive following the swift Taliban seizure of key Afghan cities after he withdrew American troops.

West Wing officials voiced their frustrations with former President Donald Trump in conversations with Axios reporter Jonathan Swan.

The officials complained that Trump only left them with 3,000 troops in Afghanistan, forcing them to withdraw because there was no way to keep the peace with such a small force, according to the report.

There was an early peace in Afghanistan, team Biden argued, only because Trump agreed to leave on May 1.

That was an argument that White House press secretary Jen Psaki used in July, noting Biden believed the Taliban “would have been shooting at U.S. troops again after May 1.”

“The withdrawal deadline negotiated by the previous administration kind of set that timeline,” she said.

Biden first chose to extend the deadline for troop withdrawals to September 11, but in July he moved up the timeline to August 31.

Biden also insisted in July that the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan was “not inevitable” in an exchange with reporters.

When asked why he was confident, Biden signaled optimism regarding the strength of the Afghanistan army.

“The Afghan troops have 300,000 — as well-equipped as any army in the world — and an air force against something like 75,000 Taliban,” he said. “It is not inevitable.”

Trump himself criticized Biden’s handling of the withdrawal in Afghanistan in a statement on Thursday.

“I personally had discussions with top Taliban leaders whereby they understood what they are doing now would not have been acceptable,” he said, noting that if he was still president, he would have focused on a “conditions-based” withdrawal.”

Trump told oneof the Taliban’s highest leaders, to his face, that Trump would destroy the man’s ancestral village immediately 8f the Taliban violated the Trump plan of peaceful withdrawel and handover.

To. His. Face.

And they were abiding, 100%, until Biden changed the plan unilaterally. Now, chaos.

Biden and cohorts don’t have the spine, like Trump, to blast their leader’s families into rubble. And the Taliban know it.

We have a weak weak weak public and politicians. Neither can stomach what it takes to completely lay waste on your enemy; bringing them before their knees to surrender. If that means collateral deaths to women and children (it happens) then so be it. The present generation would rather send a “Tweet” of baddie bad words as if that would have any impact to those that wish to bring us death. Every President, Congress and American public since WWII has been weak. Face it, we’ve been pussified.

We will never know if Trump's withdraw approach would have worked. However, we can see the beginning of Trump's approach and compare that to the lies proffered by Xiden and Xiden's results.

1.) Trump implemented a conditions-based withdrawal that was not carried forward by Xiden.
2.) The conditions included the Taliban as being equal partners in the Afghan government. In return the Taliban would be peaceful.
3.) The Trump Administration regularly met with the Taliban and the Afghan government.
4.) There was not a single American death in Afghanistan in the 18 months prior to Trump leaving office.
5.) The Xiden Administration took its time in talking with the Afghan government, namely Ghani, who was invited to the White House. The details of those discussions were never revealed by the most transparent administration ever.
6.) The Xiden Administration never addressed a conditioned-based withdraw with the Taliban. In fact, Xiden only recently started begging and bribing the Taliban for a peaceful withdrawal.
7.) Only after Xiden took office did the Taliban start their offensive where they now hold one-half of the provincial capitals in Afghanistan. Thousands Afghanis have been murdered, raped, and abused by the Taliban. Contrast with the peace that Trump facilitated.

There is no doubt that Xiden as an abject failure. Everything he and his fellow leftist touch is ruined. He has destroyed the integrity of our elections. He has destroyed our boarder. He has destroyed our economy. He has destroyed our energy (oil/gas) dominance. He has destroyed small businesses. He has destroyed our freedoms. He is destroying peace in the world and at home.

Xiden is clearly to blame for the conditions in Afghanistan, but it is calculated. This is not about evacuating Americans. It is about helping Muslim Afghanis immigrate to American. Just this past Thursday, 1,200 Afghani Muslims were airlifted to Ft. Lee, VA. This was months in the planning. The logistics were in place. The Kabul airport was open. The housing for the Muslim immigrants was arranged at Ft. Lee. The 1,200 Afghani Muslims could have been 1,200 Americans.

Instead, Xiden is sending our troops in harms way to fill America with Muslims. We did the same damn thing with Somalia. This crap has to stop.

Who in the hell thought withdrawing from Afghanistan on 9/11 was appropriate?

These are the adults that the live all wanted in charge right? Disgusting

Funny how 3000 troops under Trump kept the Taliban in check, then Biden comes in and it wasnt enough

Funny how we were energy independant and supplying the world with oul and Biden comes in and he is begging like a bitch for OPEC to pump more

Funny how we had no real inflation and Biden comes in and and suddenly we have $3.00 a gallon gas and food prices through the roof.

Funny how none of this is funny.

The point is not to start wars you can’t win. Withdrawing everybody is a political or public relations thing. If the Afghan troops were worth anything, a token US force plus American air support would inspire them to fight. Announcing a complete withdrawal signals to friends that we won’t back them up and to enemies that the time has come to attack.

The Mongols managed to conquer Afghanistan. If they met resistance, they killed every man, woman, and child. Otherwise, they just killed the men, raped the women, and enslaved the children.

If only there was a Reagan-like candidate that we could elect to two terms after Biden.

Excellent post. I have tried to tell people that Genghis Khan and his military surpass all others except for the Jews as directed by God. No other military fighting force that has existed in history can compare to his apart from the above example. The information I give is almost always disregarded.

The 3,000 troops were there to train up the Afghan military to keep the peace for themselves. They (Afghans) can not or will not do what is necessary to "keep the peace". That's on them, not Trump.

LOL! Of course they are. Let me guess, they will also blame Trump for inflation, for the collapse in consumer sentiment, for millions of illegals flooding in, for the rise in gas prices, etc etc.

Does anybody expect them to actually take responsibility for their failures?

I just finished several books about different battles our troops fought in Afghanistan. They relied on Afghan troops to fight with them but after paydays they’d disappear for days and not return until their money ran out - to be repeated again and again. Absolutely could not be relied on.

For anyone interested in some good reading:

**Roberts Ridge - A story of courage and sacrifice on Takur Ghar Mountain , Afghanistan
**Where Men Win Glory (about the killing of Pat Tillman)
**Not a Good Day To Die - The untold story of operation Anaconda
**Horse Soldiers - The extraordinary story of a band of U. S. Soldiers who rode to victory in Afghanistan.
**Into The Fire - A first hand account of the most extraordinary battle in the Afghan War

Most of the stories gave a picture of the frustration of relying on the “go ahead” from “on high” personnel and sometimes only to see all their hard work go down the tubes; plea after plea being turned down for help for air support etc.. Some not so flattering pictures of our administration officials at the time.

I buy used books from thriftbooks.com for $3-$4 and pass them on when I’m finished with them. My bookshelves can’t hold any more...

I'm not a fan of Bob Dylan, but at the first Live Aid he basically said "can we take some of this money and give it to the farmers to grow food?"

Food? They're smart enough to grow drug precursors instead; that's where the money is.
