That disgraceful pos was my Senior Song in high school.
The only reason I can give is that it really was a
“High” school.
As a music teacher, I have always been appalled at the fact that my students were being taught that song in Public Dchool as a kind of anthem. Then they would ask me to teach them how to play it on the piano. I hated the words so much that I encouraged the kids to write their own.
