Surgical masks were designed to keep medical personnel from inadvertently infecting patients’ wounds, not to prevent the spread of viruses. Public-health officials’ advice in the early days of Covid-19 was consistent with that understanding. Then, on April 3, 2020, Adams announced that the CDC was changing its guidance and that the general public should hereafter wear masks whenever sufficient social distancing could not be maintained.
Fast-forward 15 months. Rand Paul has been suspended from YouTube for a week for saying, “Most of the masks you get over the counter don’t work.” Many cities across the country, following new CDC guidance handed down amid a spike in cases nationally caused by the Delta variant, are once again mandating indoor mask-wearing for everyone, regardless of inoculation status. The CDC further recommends that all schoolchildren and teachers, even those who have had Covid-19 or have been vaccinated, should wear masks.
In sum, of the 14 RCTs that have tested the effectiveness of masks in preventing the transmission of respiratory viruses, three suggest, but do not provide any statistically significant evidence in intention-to-treat analysis, that masks might be useful. The other eleven suggest that masks are either useless—whether compared with no masks or because they appear not to add to good hand hygiene alone—or actually counterproductive.
Of the three studies that provided statistically significant evidence in intention-to-treat analysis that was not contradicted within the same study, one found that the combination of surgical masks and hand hygiene was less effective than hand hygiene alone, one found that the combination of surgical masks and hand hygiene was less effective than nothing, and one found that cloth masks were less effective than surgical masks.

No…. An n95 somewhat helpful in medical settings but generally speaking face coverings can’t stop COVID very well. Science has known this all along. There is not one random control peer reviewed study that can lend credibility to this masking scam.
A major factor in your immune system being able to sustain your body's fight against harmful intrusive bacteria, viruses, etc., is being able to INHALE NITROGEN AND OXYGEN and NOT INHALE YOUR OWN EXPELLED BREATHE (CARBON DIOXIDE) BECAUSE YOU ARE WEARING A MASK.
Wearing a mask can be DANGEROUS to one's health. You are depriving your body of the air it was DESIGNED TO BREATHE and this is ESPECIALLY dangerous for younger children in their formative years.
Few think about this. OUR BODIES WERE NOT DESIGNED TO BREATHE CARBON DIOXIDE ALL DAY.

My wife is a medical laboratory scientist. She said they have seen a jump in bacterial pneumonia and other nasty things since these mask mandates went into effect!
Masks do not stop the COVID-19 virus (or Delta), but do introduce lots of other harmful things into the body!

Regarding masks and the science behind them. Masks have been in use for decades. Plenty of time has passed to pretty well establish the science with regard to masks, but if you listen to the media, one would think the science behind masks only became established over the last 18 months
Fauci tried to talk his way out of his stating early on that people need not wear masks because they would not be particularly effective and could cause unintended consequences. He tried to state he did so because he was trying to get people to not stockpile them so they would be more available to the healthcare workers. His comments early on with regard to masks is about the only time I think he has been honest when speaking about them.

Masks. Do. Not. Work. At least not for the purpose ascribed to them. As a virtue signaling marker, though, they are a surprisingly clever marketing device.

Trying to debate this with a church of covid hysterical fool is maddening and hilarious at the same time. I had a college professor swear a mask could now stop covid even when I pointed out the warnings on the box it came in and mask itself says it won’t. Oh there are new studies that say they do! I replied pre-covid you would be laughed out of the room by any one who seriously knows immunology and PPE usage. How come these masks now work but only with the covid virus? They help, they work was all he could mutter. He is so scared of dying and getting it he would put a trash bag on his head, turn the gas on in his oven and climb in if the governor and pope Fauci told him too.
The government and doctors know that masks are useless and they throw this out there because it makes the people think they are doing something and that the government is doing something. It’s all a prop and a deadly lie they are telling to the people.
