What I'm saying is that it would be insane to connect voting systems to the Internet, it's against their stated policies, and if it happened on any level it would be easy to detect and document. It wouldn't even take documentation of every single hack...any hack would do.

I missed that it was against their stated policy. Even the CEO of Dominion has admitted that they have voting machines that connect to the Internet, although of course he downplays the numbers and extent of those jurisdictions.
