"The governors office says “suspending the reading, writing and math proficiency requirements … will benefit “Oregon’s Black, Latino, Latina, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Tribal, and students of color.”"

Why bother going to school, then?
One would think people from those groups would be insulted, even enraged, at that sort of statement.

Exactly who is being measured by the ‘Standard’?
Their argument is that when Jane fails, it hurts Jane; but what if Jane’s entire class fails? Or the entire school fails to meet the standard?
Maybe the students are the problem.
