When Mom passed away in NC My sister handled the details one of which was cremation. She is in the Raleigh area, I’m by Charlotte, NC and our Brother is in Arkansas. He and I had to go to a local Funeral Homes and sign a form faxed from the FH in Raleigh to those local FH’s that All Parties were consenting that We (Family) all agreed to the cremation. Then the completed form was faxed back the Raleigh FH.

It’s a NC State Law.

Same thing when my Mom passed last year. She had left no instructions, so at least 3 of her 4 children had to provide notary statements giving consent or the undertaker in Georgia would not cremate.
