US Women’s Siccer team barely advanced after tie with Australia
Women’s softball team just went down..
An older siblings saw her floor performance, and said she totally blew it, getting completely out of bounds at one point.
She joins the American basketball team going into the Olympics too cocky, with too much hubris and not well practiced.
The media put too much pressure on her, commercials, high horse, almost a God.
Watched a recap and she just didn’t look right. Hope for the best.
In what way is Simone Biles woke?
Granted I don’t pay a lot of attention to gymnastics or to the Olympics in general any more, but I’ve had the impression that Simone has always been about her gymnastics.
Oh, except NBC did have a featurette about her being one of the victims of Dr. What’s his name. I didn’t hear what was said, I had the volume turned down.
So anyway that’s a question, intended at face value. Woke, in what way?

The writer implies that by her dropping out, it helped the US team. Is the average of the other three gymnasts substituted?
The pressure of being called GOAT (greatest of all time) got to her and she lost focus.
Maybe she'll be back for the individual all-around and individual apparatus, now that she's seen the world reaction to her decision.
Spoiler: the athletic world seems to be accepting of her decision to put her mental health first. They are setting her up as a role model for young women athletes for being willing to step away if it doesn't feel right.

Watched her qualifying stuff. She clearly was having issues.. don’t know what happened during competition… but again was clear something wasn’t right with her.
Not into any of the woke crap, but honestly don’t know what is/was going on with her, but seems fairly obvious her head wasn’t in the game.
