‘Vast majority’ of Covid-19 cluster in Cape Cod were vaccinated
In Cape Cod, a geographic cape extending into the Atlantic Ocean in Massachusetts, the vaccinated are falling ill with Covid-19. The American town with one of the highest vaccination rates in the state, now has the highest rate of new cases.
An official told ABC News on Monday that the “vast majority” of the 132 Covid-19 cases were among vaccinated individuals.
At least 33 people in a nursing home in Yarmouth on Cape Cod have tested positive for SARS-Cov-2. Most of the residents that tested positive were vaccinated, reported the Boston Globe. Health authorities “working closely with the CDC” tried to minimize the outbreak while local outlets like the Cape Cod Times blamed unvaccinated people.
According to the Boston Globe, “at least 35 Covid-19 cases in Boston residents have been traced back to Provincetown” and the newspaper reported that the overwhelming majority of those had been fully vaccinated. A fully vaccinated Boston resident who had fallen ill while in Provincetown recently, told the Globe: “For two days, I was the sickest I’ve ever been in my life.” The same resident nevertheless hailed the initiation of vaccine passports.
ABC News meanwhile downplayed the outbreak on Cape Cod among the fully vaccinated, but another individual who had fallen ill, admitted that “it’s definitely not what I expected being fully vaccinated”.
Dr. Janet Whelan, a member of the Provincetown Board of Health, confirmed that the vaccinated could be spreading the Coronavirus: “The most interesting thing to me about this cluster of cases is so many of the people infected were vaccinated, which sort of means that a lot of the people that are vaccinated who are exposed to it may feel safe, but may also transmit it to others.” ABC News however dismissed the spread as being “not a major concern”.
But FauxChi is telling us that if you get a vaccination you won’t get the CCP virus.
That's a very good point. Most gay men have compromised immune systems. I wonder if that makes them more susceptible to Covid, whether or not they're injected with the mRNA substance. For obvious reasons, I'm not holding my breath waiting for a study to be done on that.
That is not possible,,,,Joe says that cannot happen if vaxxed.
Great post. Those were my thoughts too. It’s tough to break through and offer sane information on this discussion board over this topic. I appreciate it.
33 people in a nursing home; 42 people in a nursing home
A captive audience - were all the caregivers vaccinated? no? well then
The vaxx makers want a third shot now and at least one personality said that vulnerable people in his country should get the third.
I refer to former PM Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel. Netanyahu indicated that he had spoken to Moderna and Pfizer CEO’s before saying it.
where i come from its three strikes and you are OUT
...........
Not only does the vax not prevent you from getting covid, it also does not prevent you from spreading it.
So there is that!
The new report doesn’t stun all the world.
Only the kool-aid drinking liberals.
Hospitalized, seriously ill or just a positive test with few if any symptoms? My bet is the latter. The media is playing this up as another panic to reinstate the masks and lockdowns. I expect many will ignore this fear mongering and go about their business.

In a Massachusetts nursing home close to 100% of the residents would have been vaccinated. If there is a 10% failure rate for the vaccine then you would need 330 and 420 exposed patients in the nursing homes respectively. Not just patients, patients that were exposed to COVID-19 long enough so that in the absence of the vaccine they would have been infected.
That seems pretty unlikely unless there is some kind of super spreader event going on in those nursing homes, or the nursing homes have very large populations.
Perhaps some research should be done to understand why widespread exposure to COVID-19 is happening in what should be fairly safe and isolated facilities.
I found a sort of recent article about Mass. Looks like the best they had for Covid vaccination in health care workers not doctors is 80% at Brigham. A Worcester nursing home at 70%. I wonder if MA mandated all health care workers be vaccinated since the below Feb article?
Delta has mutations that allow it to infect faster (used to be 15 minutes face to face, right? that’s out the window) and grow faster - 3.7 days to contageous with a higher viral load, ROI 5+ So 1 person infects 5 who infect 5 each. As opposed to original wuhan of 1 person infects 2 which infect 2. Which I think makes the virus itself a superspreader? One or two infected visitors or care staff or craft day person or delivery guy chatting with a resident and there’s 25 to 50 infected in less than 9 days.
R0 is the rate before any effect from vaccinations, social distancing, etc. So if the delta mutation does have an R0 of 5 then against a 100% vaccinated population with a 90% effective vaccine it only has an effective R0 of 0.5. So no rapid spreading at all.
With a 70% vaccinated population, with the same 90% effective vaccine the effective R0 is about 0.7 if my mental math is correct.
It would be very helpful if the public health organizations could provide accurate data. Apparently once Joe Biden was elected they decided that wasn't important anymore. The data available today almost seems to be designed to be useless.
What data is published is often presented in misleading or useless ways. One report recently presented the infection rate divided by the total population of vaccinated people in Massachusetts. That's a useless statistic if you are trying to understand actual risks of infection and how an outbreak is proceeding.
