I used to believe in the great conspiracy of the CIA, the Mob, the Cubans, the KGB etc. in killing JFK but I came to the conclusion that the only conspiracy to kill Kennedy existed solely and entirely in the mind of one troubled and angry loner named Lee Harvey Oswald.

Such an undertaking to kill a President of The United States
would require legions of people to keep their mouths shut and no one would be above suspicion or trusted of being able doing so. If Oswald ever succeeded at anything in his short miserable life he succeeded at becoming a United States Marine. And those of you here who are Marines or have served the Corps know what that takes. My oldest brother was a 1st. Lieutenant 1st Marine Division. Every Marine must qualify as a marksman or you don't earn that Globe And Anchor. Oswald did that. And on that November afternoon he put that rifle out that sixth floor window of The Texas School Book Depository Building and shot and killed President John F. Kennedy, wounded Texas Governor John Connally and later that afternoon shot and killed Dallas police officer J.D. Tippit. So much for conspiracy theories.

“Marksman” is the lowest qualifying rate for a shooter in the US Military. It’s followed by “Sharpshooter” then “Expert” which means Oswald barely qualified with the issue weapon after weeks on the range.

If Oswald was truly the lone gunman, why wouldn’t he shoot Kennedy as he was driving slowly towards the book depository or when Kennedy was directly underneath him. Those are much easier shots, than a shot at a vehicle driving away from him

Finally, More than likely, the first shot would be the most accurate as the shooter would still have the element of surprise and not rushing to get the shots off and make the escape.

To me, one of the single best pieces of evidence that points to some kind of conspiracy is the LAUGHABLY pristine bullet that was recovered from Connelly’s hospital gurney at Parkland. There is no way that bullet was fired from any weapon that day. Bullets, even fully jacketed rifle bullets, will look that unmarred unless is slowed down by something incredibly soft.

What did it hit so incredibly softly that it came to rest (presumably) in Connelly’s clothing to then fall out when he was placed on the stretcher?

Nothing is the only reasonable answer. So, that means someone placed that bullet on that stretcher. That is, definitionally, a conspiracy.

I’m agnostic on who killed JFK and why or even if Oswald knew he was part of something bigger. But, that the pristine bullet exists, speaks volumes, IMO.

Don’t forget Oswald also took a shot at a General. He missed only because the bullet hit a window pane and was deflected.

Every Marine must qualify as a marksman or you don't earn that Globe And Anchor. Oswald did that.

I was in the Marine Corps and while I'd love to maintain the myth that every Marine is some kind of superhero marksman, that is simply not the case.

Two weeks of boot camp is dedicated to the rifle range. One week of "snapping in" in which you practice endlessly in the standing, kneeling, sitting and prone positions while learning about windage, breathing techniques and trigger control, etc.

The second week you are out on the range firing hundreds of rounds of live ammunition. When it comes time to qualify, it is almost impossible to not make at least marksman (sharpshooter and expert are even higher ratings), especially with friendly co-recruits pulling butts for you and spotting your rounds on the targets at the other end. We made sure every recruit at least got marksman.

There are many ways to wash out of boot camp but I can't remember a single instance of a recruit washing out at the rifle range.

Now most Marines do have more than decent shooting skills and can probably field-strip and clean an M16A1 while blindfolded but by and large they are not much better shots than your typical farm kid who grew up with rifles. To be a sniper, you need years of practice with tens of thousands of rounds. I don't think Oswald was of that caliber (pun intended).
