Gotta admit, I am surprised we’ve had to fight republican Governors on the issue of banning puberty blockers. This one should be easy.
How did our society even get to the point where this is an issue?
Where is Iowa’s AG?!?
What’s galling is that this is only the first such law in the nation to be enacted.
You would have thought this should have been a no-brainer.
While I agree with this particular aspect the phrase “arguing that states have an obligation to “protect kids.”” is a slippery slope with regard to par ed natal rights.
We need to learn to play the long game.
Only 18??? Where the HELL are the other 32??
In a court filing in support of the ACLU's lawsuit, the U.S. Department of Justice asserted that “federal law bars the State of Arkansas from singling out transgender minors for specifically and discriminatorily denying their access to medically necessary care based solely on their sex assigned at birth." (My emphasis.)
Well, DUH; looks like the DOJ, in its infinite wisdom, has repealed multiple millenia of scientific learning by all cultures that's conclusively established sex is determined on conception depending on whether a XX or XY chromosome fertilizes the mother's ovum.
