Certification has a legal effect and once an election has been certified, that contest is over. Check the scoreboard, the clock has run down to 0:00 and the game is over. Those who engaged in corrupt or illegal actions must be dealt with in the courts and during the next election. That certainly applies to the Presidential contest, but also to the two Senate contests in Georgia.

The bottom line is that SCOTUS has held that an election of any United States official can be challenged based on fraud or error by a writ of quo warranto.And while rather rare, there have been cases where elected officials have been removed from office after election fraud was discovered after the election. It's not something that has never happened.
