Shmaybe. Trump made a heroic effort by himself to checkmate China. Tariffs and sanctions got their attention. Yet 20 months ago China unleashed biowar on the world which conveniently aided in getting rid of Trump.
Yes. He had their number and the way to combat them. In a fair fight, playing to our strengths, they would always lose.
But we have not played to our strengths. We have let them infiltrate our universities, steal our inventions and technology, and even get away with creating a pandemic that has killed millions. We even sent them US taxpayer grant money to do the research that most likely led to Covid-19. And all they have had to do to deflect blame is to equate being a Chinese national with being Asian - and then claim anti-Asian prejudice.
