You hit the nail on the head. I live in Florida out in the country. There are solar “farms” going up all around us! There are thousands of acres of these ugly things. And the companies doing this aren’t even our electric company. I read in several places that solar panels on this scale can contribute to global warming. I don’t know if this is true but I can see why it could. Also pot farms. There’s a huge one going up just 2 miles from us. In a word...our farmlands are going to solar and pot.
Yes, it’s the same way here. There are several solar installations close by and in the thousands of acres each. Cincinnati has claimed the power, yet there is none in their own county. Why didn’t they want these in their own county? Stupid f’n republicans rolled over and played dead. Contribute to global warming? I believe it produces a standing heat column. They have to reflect heat. If they catch fire highly toxic fumes (cadmium sulfide) are released. The rural fire departments will be ill equipped to deal with it. We got rid of cadmium plated hardware in the military some 20 odd years ago because it is highly toxic.
