For the same reason all the large corporations, municipalities, and just above everyone else caves... they are afraid of being branded as racists.

The bullying tactics have accelerated tremendously since the death of George Floyd. If the current trajectory we are on is not altered, I predict within 5 years the July 4th holiday will be abolished. Juneteenth will be the new national Independence Day.

At least, parents need to educate their children about our history.

In Denver, they had a reading of The Declaration of Independence every 4th of July. Brought my children every year.
