Where I live in WA state, I’m seeing around 95% still wearing masks. Over 60% of residents now vaccinated. Mask-wearing has turned into a collective neurosis!

These people are like freaking 3 year old narcissists.
I decided not to let mask wearers bother me. I have more important things to do and ponder. I just figure they have their reasons. Not my concern, unless and until they have a need to talk about it.
They are habituated to accept and actually NEED subservience…like the losers who embraced Nazism in exchange for having themselves taken care of and in exchange for having decisions made FOR them! Someone would ELSE take responsibility for their lives!
Self punishment....virtue signaling.....anti-Trump signaling....feeling naked without one....peer pressure....herd mentality,...etc.

It’s interesting what you say, because skepticism is what they would claim destroyed their faith when in fact, it seems more like petulance on their part.
And a lot of people wonder why I don’t really like going and mingling with the public. here’s your answer...
I’m in my 60s, so it doesn’t matter as much, but how is a young man supposed to let a girl know how pretty she looks today when she is always Masked Up?
You usually wouldn’t even have to say it out loud. Just eye contact and an expression of “appreciation” from the guy was enough.
Wearing the mask shows they have willingly submitted to the governmental authority and hope the fascists will not pick them for arrest and punishment.
They would willingly turn in anyone who doesn’t have a mask. We saw this phenomenon when the nazis invaded France and the French willingly turned in their Jewish neighbors in the hopes that the nazis would leave them alone.
I sorta miss not brushing my teeth before going to wally-mart. Get up, get dressed, get groceries. A mask makes that possible. Also I didn’t have to chit-chat cuz nobody knew it was me. Cams didn’t know me... I was invisible, sacrisanc , obliviously non-discript... masks helped keep creepy old cray-cray cat lady alcoholics from spittin’ on the vegetables...
Now, I have put droplets of red food coloring on my mask... and when asked or harrassed for wearing a mask... I just tell ‘em I got TB... it works! The holier-than-thou know-everything-anal-buttinski’s can’t get out my way quick enuff, just cuz I coughed in their direction...
A subterfuge, I know... but better than engaging with pius SFB’s at every turn...

I have received both shots and still wear mine indoors when shopping. Only because my brother who I have almost daily contact with is a transplant patient. He also received both shots but due to his rejection meds can not build up an immunity to C19.
Mask-wearing is — and has been all along — nothing but a vile, nasty, unhealthy bad habit. Because bad habits are often hard to break and to do so requires courage, confidence and strength, because these traits have been replaced by fear, distrust and weakness throughout a large portion of American “men” and women, masking will persist for some time, I suspect long after anyone remembers why they continue to wear the damned dehumanizing — and useless — things.

You nailed it, and therein lies the reason for our woes today. Overreaching governments, bad laws, morality, all of it. It all comes right down to that.
An outdoor signage at a local school said to wear your mask and stay at home. Looks like they are trying keep the fear pressure on after 15 months.
