MADRID — Spain's postal service is feeling a backlash from its attempt to highlight racial inequality.
State-owned Correos España this week issued a set of four stamps in different skin-colored tones. The darker the stamp, the lower the price. The lightest color costs 1.60 euros ($1.95). The darkest one costs 0.70 euros ($0.85).

If they were communists they earned it
This has to be a joke.
The Spanish postal service “introduced them on the anniversary of George Floyd being killed.” This provides a little implied criticism of the United States, which is always a popular pastime in Europe.
In my opinion, the message was supposed to be something like, “Racism is really bad, and those backward Americans are the worst racists around! But we’re so much better - see, we’ve issued these really cool and sensitive anti-racist stamps!”
Meanwhile, the average Spaniards, many of whom are nice, regular, down-to-earth people, are probably laughing about the whole mess.
Hi-larious.
Sheesh.
Watch the U.S. Postal service follow suit.

Funny.
Like the American plan for the $20 bill to picture Harriet Tubman. A comedian said "Yes, that is a good thing. Finally a woman on the currency. But because of that, the new $20 bill with her on it will be worth $14."
Great cartoon on shades for cops to use.
>>The postal service calls them “Equality Stamps” and introduced them on the anniversary of George Floyd being killed by a police officer in Minneapolis. It said the stamps “reflect an unfair and painful reality that shouldn’t be allowed” and that every letter or parcel sent with them would “send a message against racial inequality.”
Meanwhile no stamps or international outrage over this.
Doesn’t fit the talking points.

No admission that he killed her as well. Absolute atrocity but no international outrage.

3/5 of $20 is $12.
Hopefully he was better at comedy than math.
From the original and legendary The Little Shop of Horrors (1960)
Mrs. Shiva: I thought possibly because I give you all my funeral business, that maybe you should possibly give to me a little cut rate.
Mushnick: Look at me, Mrs. Shiva. What I, a philatelist?... To my throat I would be giving a cut.
The late night comics just have to fit into skinny suits, not make sense.
:-)
Great idea, I can now mail letters using the paint samples from Lowe’s.
LOL...one of my favorite episodes!
Sure they could have. Make them all the same intrinsic value (think "Forever" stamps), but charge different amounts based on the color!
We didn't need to, we knew you would cover it.
Make sure you don’t buy the cheap stamps.
