Some years ago as I was driving a busy section of US 119 at dusk, I could see a golden retriever limping across the road which had probably been hit. I put on my flashers and pulled the car diagonally to block both lanes of traffic until the dog could safely cross.

I suppose I could've been cited for blocking traffic for 30 seconds or so and I did endure some honking, but it was the right thing to do.

I think it must have been a person or people like you who saved my dog the day he got spooked at something while I had him out walking, ran away from me, and walked back home on a path he had never taken across six lanes of busy interstate highway.
