It looks like a case of irony. The truth is probably twisted around quite a bit. It sure sounds like a likely story to me. Statistics show ( science) that fewer than 7% of COVID deaths did not include any other complicating factor. 80% of COVID deaths were among elderly people. The statistical likelihood of this story being true is about 5%.
I had COVID in December. My personal experience with it was that it alone was not life-threatening. At no time did I think I would be going to a hospital.
