Ok...The crook is smiling because he knew he got caught. He doesnt look like they beat the crap out of him as for the police dogs, they were Beagles who arent attack dogs but tracking dogs. Whats the problem?
Agreed, he is smiling because he gave it his best shot and they got him. There is no mistreatment going on here.
