Ron DeSantis announced this week that Florida would no longer accept Joe Biden's federal unemployment benefit boost, making it the 23rd state to stop doling out the $300 per week payment to jobless citizens.
The states, all run by Republican governors, argue that there are plenty of jobs available – and that the boosted benefits disincentivize their constituents to go back to work because they make more sitting and home and collecting.
Floridians will no longer be eligible to receive the weekly Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation starting June 27, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) announced Monday.

I fully believe that many ‘unemployment claims’ are bogus.
Employers have tried to get employee to come back to work & they are refusing.
Unemployment claims paid under such circumstances need to be clawed back & recipients prosecuted.
I stayed at a hotel last week for 3 nights. The owner, his wife and one employee were doing everything. Spoke to the owner who used to pay housekeepers 12 bucks an hour. None will return to work for that amount. So when the extra 300 a week ends he will hire them back at minimum wage and keep paying his line employee the 40 grand a year he pays now. These people are in for a rude awakening when the gravy train ends.

...Yep. Employers operating on a shoe string budget, taking their own savings to stay afloat won’t have a choice but to pay less. Of course, these clowns in the WH can easily raise minimum wage to $20 p/h and fix that.
This just helps the economy which helps Biden. Yuk!
Next, reject federal welfare money. Tell people to get a job or move to a blue state.
Menial labor jobs for Americans while the US imports a half million Indians per year to take jobs the American middle class used to be able to be allowed to do.

Oh mine did. At a nearly 50% pay and benefits cut. They outsourced half the department to India in the last year.
