The FBI on Wednesday released videos of “horrifying assaults” on law enforcement during the Jan. 6 riot on Capitol Hill as Congress debates the formation of a commission to investigate the insurrection.
In two new videos, the FBI showed one suspect trying to tear off an officer’s gas mask before picking up a baton and striking officers with it, and another suspect punching officers with gloves with metal knuckles.
The FBI requested the public’s help in identifying the two suspects and confirmed that more than 425 individuals who took part in the insurrection have been arrested so far.
“The American people answered the call when we asked for their help two months ago in identifying 10 individuals captured on video in some of the most violent attacks on officers who were protecting the U.S. Capitol on January 6,” said Steven D’Antuono, assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, referencing other arrests that were made as a result of tips from the public.
“As difficult as it is to report family, friends, and co-workers, the American public continues to provide vital assistance to the FBI and our partners in this investigation," D’Antuono said in a statement.
The release of the video comes as Republicans line up against creating a commission to investigate the Jan. 6 riot, which unsuccessfully sought to halt Congress’s certification of the Electoral College results of the 2020 presidential race.
The videos also undermine arguments from Republicans seeking to downplay the severity of the insurrection, which led to the deaths of several people.
Republican lawmakers in recent days have downplayed the violence, with some questioning whether the rioters were in fact supporters of former President Trump — which multiple insurrectionists confirmed in court testimony — and others downplaying the rioters’ intent.
“Watching the TV footage of those who entered the Capitol and walked through Statuary Hall showed people in an orderly fashion staying between the stanchions and ropes taking videos and pictures,” Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) said last week. “You know, if you didn’t know the TV footage was a video from Jan. 6, you’d think it was a normal tourist visit.”

Those are the real threats to the FBI.
“FBI, CIA, DOJ, CDC...all corrupt. Do nothing for any of them.”
I never imagined that at any time in my decades of life that given my love for our country, that I would agree with your statement. And here I am agreeing with it.
All three branches of our government are supposed to be the servants of the people. It is corroded into something completely the opposite as we continue to move toward serfdom.
horrifying
Stupid drama queens. Was not even 1% of a typical Antifa or BLM street festival.
// Pelosi has her own dedicated ‘secret’ security detail. //
Interesting, not surprising. I’d read that in the past, need to see if can find it (yrs ago).
Still goes along with FBIs ability to manufacture, manipulate, and control evidence.
As Canuck pointed out, why not release the video in their diligent efforts to enlist all hands on deck to ID & punish violent Trump insurrectionists?
Yet Another current of the attempted downward spiral.

Thank you.
Note this is after we saw on video the outer barricades being moved by police (ID?) to allow entrance.
Also valuable, the Trump supporter OUTSIDE (skeptical & concerned about legality or advisability of entering the building) who repeatedly asked a group of police (ID?) why they are weren’t intervening, demanding a answer.
Pantie-fa posing as MAGA were smart enough to not carry their phones with them. They’ll never be ID’ed.
Here it is down same rumble page
Meanwhile Portland has decriminalized assaulting police officers if you are in a mostly peaceful antifa blm riot.
These two have already been identified as antifa and released. /s
These are FBI inmplants. No doubt about it. They will never be identified. Have since shaved and resumed duties as the regular a__holes they truly are.
Why weren’t these attackers arrested then and there? Were there no other cops nearby to help the ones being attacked? What kind of wussies are these Capitol police, anyway?
Of course, anyone who attacked a law enforcement should be arrested and prosecuted. However the overall January 6th happening was nothing more than a 1st Amendment protest. It was peaceful in that there were no firearms or explosives involved - only a few thugs who always seem to find there way to the party.
You are asking the FBI to act as a legitimate public safety organization — something they have not been for years, and are not now. For example, they spend more time pouring over January facial recognition than worrying about the questionable illegals entering the USA. They worry more about ensnaring a Republican politician than they do the resurgent Mafia. Etc., etc., etc.
Hardly chasing. People are bragging about it on social media. That’s where most have been caught. Another case, a grandma turned her grandson in after he told her he was there. Another, a dentist this week turned one in after he bragged in the dentist chair. Perhaps people need to shut up!!!!!
The feds effort to tarnish all the defendants with the actions of a few.
My money says at least half of the instigators pretending to be antifa gender studies majors, were actually undercover criminal thugs in the FBI.
Antifa has been doing this and worse for years. Against cops. Against federal agents. I would bet Against any and every agency that exists.
Antifa climbers.
