Yep! Went to get gas at Exxon and the pumps were closed!
Looks like I waited a week too long to do my cross country move (moving next week). I’m worried I may get stuck somewhere for hours/days for lack of gas.

Unless you plan on driving up the east coast in a gasoline vehicle your chances are good. Diesel fuel will be the last to be effected. Driving west out of the northeast would be ok also as it’s driving toward the supply and away from the shortage.
Too bad that all those refineries that used to be operating up there.
Sad that the USA had closed instead of building refineries for the past 40+ years.

I’d more likely suspect it is the work of American elites who want us out of our private vehicles; they don’t even hide their intentions.
LOL, of course I’m driving a gasoline vehicle. I’ll be heading out of Florida and going northwest. I decided instead of going up through Georgia and going around ATL, I’ll go west across the panhandle and cut north through MS instead. The gas shortages seem to be worse the further Northeast one goes.
I’m a bit concerned about that. I’m on a business trip two tanks from home. Not looking forward to a two week hike.
I advised my wife and kids to keep their tanks topped off.
Your calculations also show the wisdom of dramatic price increases during emergencies. in other words Price Gouging.
It encourages people to self limit their usage to give others the same opportunity.
That’s what I was alluding to. It fits motivations.
